Hello! Thank you so much for visiting Cruise Enthused, a travel blog written by and for the cruise travel enthusiast!
I’m Amy, a former Disney Cruise Line cast & crew member turned cruise travel professional. On this blog, you can expect to find posts about cruising, cruise ship life, cruise line news, family cruising, cruise lines, ports of call and all kinds of topics related to cruising vacations. I can’t wait to share it all with you!
Here’s my story.
Back in 1999-2000, I spent four months living and working on board the Disney Wonder. This is when my love of cruising took hold. I was only 22 years old at the time, and my cruise contract as a Beverage Server with Disney Cruise Line was the first trip I’d made away from home on my own. What an adventure! Here’s what I looked like back then, when I lived below the water line.
I didn’t cruise again until June 2015, when I embarked on a 7-night cruise on board Royal Caribbean‘s Adventure of the Seas. Our cruise departed San Juan, and our ports of call included St. Croix, Antigua, St. Marten, St. Lucia and Barbados. Unfortunately, my husband had to stay home from this one, making this cruise a girls trip. I vowed to bring him along the next time!
I did just that on our next cruise in January of 2016, when he joined me on a leadership retreat on board the Independence of the Seas. It was his first experience on a cruise ship and I knew he was going to love it. I was right! We went for a 4-night cruise down to Cozumel and back. We found we loved exploring new places as a couple, and Graham discovered a real appreciation for the exceptional hospitality and service we received on our cruise thanks to the friendly and skilled crew members living and working on board. We decided our son would probably love coming on a cruise, so we began to research our next family cruise vacation.
Our first cruise as a family was a 5-night cruise from Tampa down to Key West and Cozumel (again) with our son on board the Brilliance of the Seas, a smaller Royal Caribbean ship that was really beautiful and easy to get around on. Nate also loved spending time at Adventure Ocean, the kids’ club on board.
In June of 2017, I decided to pursue my love of traveling on cruise ships as a career, so I joined Expedia CruiseShipCenters as an Independent Cruise & Vacation Consultant.
