Hey, Anchor, this is Amy from Cruise Enthused. It’s been a little while since I shared anything here, but I’ve been wanting to get back to using Anchor to share information and inspiration having to do with cruising.

Lately I’ve been really inspired by European river cruising, and I’m convinced that it’s one of the best options out there for exploring Europe at an amazing value.

Going forward, I’ll be sharing cruise packages on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays here on Anchor, which also gets sent out to my Twitter account @CruiseEnthused, so if you’re listening to this after following a link on Twitter, thanks for being here with me!

Tonight as I share a fantastic sailing with you, I’m enjoying a glass of Gallo White Zinfandel wine. Here in Southern Ontario, Canada, it’s our Thanksgiving long weekend, so we stopped today to pick up a couple of bottles of wine. This wine I’m enjoying is a California wine that’s “salmon pink in colour, with a strawberry, grapey nose with a hint of tea. It’s semi-sweet with berry fruit flavours and balanced acidity.” It’s delicious! If you’re also enjoying a Friday evening glass of wine, I’d love to hear about it. You can call into the show to tell us about your wine and I’ll add it to the channel so others can hear your recommendations.

Okay, onto today’s cruise deal.

You might be surprised to hear that today’s cruise is out of Galveston, Texas, but according to the Port of Galveston website, cruises are operating normally.

I want to tell you a bit about a cruise I’ve found on board the Carnival Freedom. This is a 7-night cruise departing Galveston on December 9, 2017. This is a Western Caribbean itinerary, and runs as follows:

  • Day One–Depart out of Galveston
  • Day Two–Fun Day at Sea
  • Day Three–Cozumel
  • Day Four–Belize
  • Day Five–Mahogany Bay, Roatan
  • Days Six and Seven–Fun Days at Sea
  • Day Eight–Return to Galveston

The rate for this cruise on an inside cabin is just $515 USD or $647 CDN including taxes & fees, based on double occupancy. This rate doesn’t include gratuities, but you can pre-pay these when you book.

Carnival Freedom is a Conquest Class ship, and features the adults-only Serenity area with whirlpools, Alchemy Bar, Blue Iguana Cantina and Tequila Bar and Red Frog Rum Bar, Sky Box Sports Bar, Guy’s Burger Joint and Camp Ocean for the kids.

For more information about this sailing, or to request a quote for you and your family, please e-mail or shoot me a tweet at @CruiseEnthused. You can also find me on my Cruise Enthused Facebook page.

Thanks so much for listening, and have a great weekend!
