Hi Anchor, this is Amy from Cruise Enthused with your cruise travel deal for Wednesday. October 11.
We’ve just finished celebrating Thanksgiving here in Southern Ontario, Canada. Happy Thanksgiving to Canadian listeners! I hope you had a really great long weekend with your friends and family.
I’ve got a couple of pieces of news to share today, with something for every type of cruise traveler. Whether you enjoy cruising on board the big-brand mega-ships or prefer the intimacy and pace of a river cruise, I’ve got some good news for you today.
Let’s start off with an offer from AmaWaterways. If you remember last week I told you about how I’ve been sort of obsessed with these European river cruises that are becoming so popular, and AmaWaterways is just one of several options if you’re considering planning a river cruise.
What’s exciting about Ama right now is that they’re waiving the single cruiser supplement for bookings made in the month of October. If you’re a single cruiser, and you want to travel on board a ship with cabins designed for two, normally you have to pay for both of those beds in the cabin, even if it’s just you staying in the room. More and more cruise ships are beginning to cater to the solo traveler, which is great news. So if you’re a single traveler who wants to hop on board one of AmaWaterways’ beautiful river cruise ships for a European adventure, this is a great time to check out that option.
The next opportunity I want to share with you today is the chance to take a transatlantic crossing cruise with Cunard. You can board the iconic Queen Mary 2 on an eastbound transatlantic cruise from New York City to Southampton for the “New York Times Crossword Crossing”, departing December 8, 2017, with balcony staterooms available for just $799 USD per person, as well as $200 USD on board credit.
Last of all, I wanted to tell you a little bit about the brand new Royal Caribbean Symphony of the Seas, the fourth Oasis class ship joining Royal Caribbean’s fleet. Symphony of the Seas will debut in the Mediterranean next spring as the world’s largest cruise ship, with a capacity of 6,800 passengers, then head to Miami by November of 2018. The ship’s features and venues look really exciting!
- laser tag
- a new “Playmakers” Sports Bar & Arcade
- The Ultimate Family Suite, which is a two-story suite with a private 3D cinema and a slide
- El Loco Fresh, where you can enjoy burritos, tacos and fresh salsa
- Hooked Seafood, a New England seafood restaurant
- Sugar Beach, a candy and ice cream shop
- The broadway musical hit, Hairspray
